The brain of the engine, called the ECU, decides how much the gases in the exhaust will be used. Electronically controlled valves are also used in this brain. These valves are called Egr. It stands for "Exhaust Gas Recirculation", that is, exhaust gas recirculation. The egr valve is found in all internal combustion engines. This recirculation means that some of the exhaust gases are re-burned.

When the exhaust gases are burned again;

- The combustion temperature in the cylinder decreases,

- Depending on the combustion temperature, the engine works more healthily,

- Efficiency increases, fuel consumption is positively affected with increased efficiency.

Why Does the EGR Valve Deteriorate?

In case of failure of the egr valve;

- The malfunction light on the engine turns on,

- Increase in engine operating temperature,

- Increase in fuel consumption,

- Loss of performance occurs,

- When accelerating, the vehicle shakes and the engine knocks.

Among the reasons for the deterioration of the EGR valve, contamination due to soot is in the first place. Due to the operating principle of the valve, some exhaust gas remains inside and this causes drying. As a result of the pollution, clogging and narrowing occur in the channel through which the exhaust gas passes. Accumulated deposits force the clapper (valve cover) to stay fixed inward / outward, or it appears as a malfunction due to its inability to function.

It is possible to clean the dirt accumulated in this channel. However, if it is not cleaned regularly, the soot layer hardens and becomes petrified. In such cases, valve replacement should be performed.

What is EGR Valve Cancellation? Is There Any Damage To Our Vehicles?

EGR cancellation; As a result of clogging/contamination of the valve in the vehicle over time, its efficiency will decrease and it will become a part that is far from standard performance. Therefore, instead of replacing the part, the request for the cancellation of the existing part occurs. Since the valve will be permanently closed after cancellation, full performance is obtained from the vehicle's engine with this process.

This valve is generally activated in low and medium speed engines and at constant speeds. While it varies according to the make and model of the vehicle used, it is disabled at full throttle. The brain, which decides the gas output, closes the egr valve system when high power is needed.

With the cancellation of these parts not causing any harm to the vehicle, the exhaust emission standards of the vehicle decrease.
